Summer Day Camp:There will be 3 sessions (each 2 weeks long) of Summer Day Camp each year located at the Power House. A full day of activities is provided for boys and girls ages 8 to 12. Day camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Breakfast and Lunch provided. Limited transportation is also provided. First Session begins June 8th. Registration Fee: $30.00 for each 2-week session. Summer Food Service Program:This program provides Breakfast and Lunches to all kids ages 18 and under in Fannin County, free of charge for 6 weeks during the summer months. Check newspaper for dates and site. Challenger Soccer Camp:Challenger Soccer Camp is the Official Camp and Clinic of Major League Soccer. Noted for having the most qualified and talented coaching staff in the industry, this camp is intended on helping players excel. All campers must bring shin-guards and a water bottle. Register at the Recreation Department. Registrations Fee: Mon. June 15 through Fri. June 19 $99.00set for June at the Fannin County Park. Swimming Lessons:Swimming Lessons are offered through the Recreation Department at the Blue Ridge Swimming Pool. Tiny-tots classes are offered for children ages 4 to 5 years old. Beginners, Advanced Beginners and Intermediate classes are offered to children ages 6 and older. Children are taught water safety, swimming strokes and more. Registration Fee: $25.00 per 2 week session. Classes are taught on Monday, Wednesday & Friday in June-July. Call the Fannin Co. Rec. Dept. for exact dates @706-632-7696. Tennis Lessons:Tennis Lessons for boys and girls 8 and older are offered as a camp in June and July. Instructor is Eddie Payne. Dates and times to be announced. Youth Football:Our Football Program consists of a 7 year old individual team, an 8 year old individual team, a 9 year old team, a 10 year old team and our 11 & 12 year old team. Season runs from July through the first weekend in November.Games are scheduled with Gilmer, Pickens, Towns, Union and Fannin Counties. Registration begins in June.Registration Fee: $75.00 Cheerleading:Our Cheerleading Program is for girls ages 7 to 12. The Cheerleading Program runs in the fall in conjunction with the Football Program. Registration Fee: $25.00 Soccer Fall Season:The fall season of soccer is open to all boys and girls ages 4 to 18 years old. Approximately 400 children participated in the fall of 2008. Registration begins in July at the Fannin County Recreation Department. Registration Fee: $45.00 Youth Basketball:The Fannin County Recreation Department has established one of the largest youth basketball programs in the state with 40 teams participating in the fall of 2008. Basketball is open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Registration begins in September. Registration Fee: $45.00. Soccer Spring Season:The spring season of soccer begins in February for boys and girls leagues in the u6, u8, u10 and u12, u14 age groups.
