Summer Basketball Camp:For boys and girls at the Fannin County High School. Camp will be in July. Contact Fannin County High School at 706-632-2081 for more information. Summer Football Camp:This will be offered by the Fannin County High School Football coaching staff this summer. For more information contact the Fannin County High School at 706-632-2081. Open Men/Women’s Basketball Gym (Fall Season):The Fannin County Recreation Department will be offering open gym to all men and women. For more information contact the Fannin County Recreation Department at 706-632-7696. Tennis Ladders (Spring and Summer):Tennis Ladders are started in late spring and early summer for all tennis buffs. Names are taken at the Recreation Department over the phone. Names are drawn randomly from a hat for seeding positions on the ladder, which is then printed weekly in the newspaper so you can challenge your competition until you reach the top of the ladder. Tennis Ladders consist of singles, doubles and mixed doubles. To be placed on the ladder, contact the Fannin County Recreation Department at 706-632-7696. Senior Adult Swim:Swimming time is set aside for Senior Adults only at the Blue Ridge pool from June through September. Exact dates and times will be announced, subject to weather and water temperature. Contact the Fannin County Recreation Department for more details at 706-632-7696. No Fee Adult Swimming Lessons:Swimming Lessons for adults will be offered this summer for beginners and also for those who would like to improve their present swimming skills. Classes will be offered in June and July during evening hours depending on pool availability. Watch the newspaper announcements for dates, times and fees. Georgia Golden Olympics:The Georgia Golden Olympics provides the opportunity for all those 55 years and older to participate in social, competitive, recreational and athletic events. Competition includes basketball, billiards, bowling, checkers, swimming, walking and more. Held at Warner Robbins Air Force Base. Dates to be announced. Basketball Clinic:The Recreation Department will certify Youth Basketball coaches through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association clinic. Offered year-round. Course can also be taken on-line. Certification Fee: $25.00 payable to N.Y.S.C.A.
